Natore: Plying of buses remained stopped from Wednesday night on Natore-Bogra and other routes in the country’s northern region as the District Bus Owners’ Association enforced an indefinite strike protesting extortion on the route.

Association’s General Secretary Sajedul Islam Sagar said the movement of buses on the routes of Natore-Bogra-Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj remained suspended from Wednesday night following rampant extortion from the buses in Singra upazila of the district.

The Rajshahi and Bogra Bus Owners’ Associations took the decision to stop plying of the vehicles on the route protesting the incident, causing untold sufferings to thousands of passengers.
