Joypurhat: Police recovered the body of a minor girl from Rashidpur village in Panchbibi upazila on Friday morning, three days after her abduction.

The deceased is Radha Rani, two-and-half-year-old daughter of clothes trader Paresh Chandra Sarkar of the village, reports UNB.

Ashraful Islam, officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station, said miscreants picked up Radha on 22 December while she was playing with other kids near her house in the afternoon.

The alleged kidnappers called the victim’s father soon after the incident and asked him to find Radha.

However, the mobile phone was later found switched off.

Victim’s father filed a case in this regard.

Police recovered the body from a bush near a pond at the village on Friday morning, added the OC.

They also detained two neighborus for interrogation in this regard.
