Sylhet: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Saturday said the investigation report on reserve heist of the Bangladesh Bank is not being made public as a case is pending with a court in the Philippines.

The Minister said this while talking to the reporters after attending a seminar on ‘Medical Waste Management’ arranged by Sylhet City Corporation at a hotel here this morning.

Bangladesh Bank's a total of $81 million was heist by international cyber hackers from its treasury account with the New York’s US Federal Reserve Bank on February 5, 2016.

Following the incident, the government formed a 3-member investigation committee, headed by central bank's former governor Dr Farashuddin, on March 19 last.

The probe body submitted its preliminary report to Muhith in April while the final report in May 30 last.

Addressing the seminar as the chief guest the Finance Minister said medical wastes management is related to public health and public awareness is a must in the regard.

Experts at the seminar presented their opinions and course of actions on waste management.

Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury, former adviser to a caretaker government and Dr M Alamgir, vice chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology were present with Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury in the chair.
