Injury marks found on domestic help Laily’s body
Dhaka: Some injury marks were found in the head and neck of Laily Begum, a domestic help who was found hanging in a house in the city's Banasree area on Friday, said doctors after conducting autopsy on her body at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday.
Laily Begum, 22, wife of Nazrul Islam of Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district and a part-time domestic help at the house of Moin Uddin of the area, was found dead in his house on Friday morning.
Dr Sohel Mahmud, a surgeon of DMCH Forensic Department, said the body of the woman bore some minor marks of wound.
The cause of the death will be known once the complete post-mortem report is available, said Mahmud adding the viscera sample has also been collected to find out the cause of death.
Earlier in the morning, three people -- homeowner Moin Uddin, his wife and caretaker Kamal -- were arrested after victim's brother-in-law Shahidul Islam filed a case with Khilgaon Police Station on Friday night in connection with the death.
Meanwhile, police filed another case in connection with an attack on law enforcers during rampage by local people over the unnatural death of the woman.
Alleging that the domestic help was killed in a planned way, local people ransacked the house, torched a vehicle and damaged a dozen more following her death on Friday afternoon.
