Dhaka: Custom officials on Saturday night held a man carrying 25 kilograms of gold from Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Assistant Commissioner of Customs Intelligence Ehsanul Kabir said Jamil, the arrestee, came to Dhaka from Singapore around 10:30pm.

‘After landing at the airport, he sat on a wheel-chair pretending that he is a disabled man,’ he said.

The custom officials searched Jamil for his suspicious activities at the custom hall and found a total of 200 pieces of gold bars which were concealed in his body, he said.

The market price of the gold bars will be approximately 12 crore, he added.
