ACC to use IP TV in spreading anti-graft messages
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken an initiative to introduce an internet protocol (IP)-based television (TV) to disseminate anti-corruption messages aiming to create awareness among people about the adverse impacts of graft.
The Commission has already formed a five-member committee to look for possible ways to introduce an IP television so that viewers can watch anti-corruption programmes from the TV using the internet, official sources said.
The committee members are ACC director general (admin) Mohammad Muneer Chowdhury (convener), deputy director Md Samiul Masud (member secretary), system analyst (director) Md Rajib Hasan, deputy director and public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya and deputy director Wakil Ahmed.
The committee has been asked to submit its report to the Commission within seven working days with its specific proposals and estimated cost of introducing an internet-based television.
"We'll sit with experts next week to take their suggestions in this regard and then we'll finalise our report that will be submitted to the Commission," ACC spokesman Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told news agency UNB on Tuesday.
Once the TV is introduced, he said, there will be a mechanism to broadcast different recorded programmes on it.
All the ACC programmes, including public hearing, press conference, public meeting and other programmes will be aired through the television. And viewers can watch these programmes from anywhere of the world.
