NTV Chairman expresses shock at Kushtia correspondent’s death
International Television Channel Limited (NTV) Chairman and Managing Director Alhaj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali on Wednesday expressed his deep shock at the death of the channel’s Staff Correspondent from Kushtia Faruk Ahmed Pinu.
Faruk Ahmed Pinu died at an Indian hospital on Tuesday night.
The body Pinu will be arrived in Dhaka from India on Wednesday evening. His first namaj-e-janaza will be held at night.
Our Meherpur correspondent Rez An Ul Bashar Tapash said Faruk Ahmed breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Rabindranath Tagore Hospital in Kolkata’s Mukundapur at about 9:30pm.
He said Faruk was suffering from kidney disease and diabetic for a long time. He was taken to Kolkata’s Rabindranath Tagore Hospital on 2 August.
Tapash also said the NTV authorities have talked to the ministry of foreign affairs to bring back Pinu’s body. The body will arrive in Dhaka in the evening.
Pinu was vice-president of the Kushtia Press Club, and president of Television Journalist Association.
