6 gold bars recovered from two passengers’ rectums at Dhaka Airport

Dhaka: A team of Dhaka Customs House detained two passengers and recovered six gold bars from their rectums at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The gold bars were seized from the passengers of a flight of Malindo Airlines on Thursday night, said a Customs House officials during a press briefing on Friday.
The Customs House officials said being tipped off the custom official kept their eyes on the passengers of the flight on Thursday night. They also scanned the luggage of Malaysia-return passenger Fajar Ali and Kamal Hossain. Later, the officers conducted search on their body while they were crossing the green channel but they found nothing.
The officials took the passengers through the archway of the airport, where the machine indicated presence of metal things on the passengers’ body.
The passengers were taken to the airport’s restroom, where the officials recovered the gold bars. The gold bars worth Tk 30lakh, said the Customs House.
