Dhaka: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia through a video speech on the party’s Facebook page has called upon voters to cast their votes in favour of BNP mayoral candidates in the 30 December municipal elections.

The 38-second video speech was posted on the BNP’s Facebook page on early Sunday and it will be there till Monday midnight, BNP assistant publicity secretary Emran Saleh Prince said, reports UNB.

In her brief speech, the BNP chief said, ‘The municipal elections are going be held on 30 December across the country. You all (voters) will go to polling stations on the voting day and elect BNP candidates by casting your ballots for the sheaf of paddy for protecting democracy and voting rights, and ensuring peace, security and development.’

Besides, Khaleda Zia will hold an emergency press conference on Monday at her Gulshan office at 4:00pm.

Party insiders said the BNP chief will come up with her final and last moment call for people to cast their votes for BNP mayoral candidates.
