Dhaka: A public holiday has been announced for 30 December in 234 municipalities as polls will be held in those areas on that day.

The holiday was announced through a notice of the public administration ministry on Sunday.

The notice, signed by senior assistant secretary Alamgir Hossain, said if there is any public examination in those areas on that day, the examination centres and authorities concerned will remain out of this holiday purview.
