Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban and discussed the country’s existing flood situation.

On her arrival at Bangabhaban at 7:40pm, the Prime Minister was received by the President with a bouquet, reports the UNB.

The meeting was on till filing of the report at about 8:55pm.

Apart from the existing flood situation, Hasina also briefed the country’s overall situation.

President Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters at his office about the meeting at about 8:30pm.

Hasina said the government has taken all-out preparations to tackle the flood and its aftermath.

She also told the President that there are enough food gains in government stock to face any exigency.

Hasina said instructions have already been given to local administrations and public representatives to take necessary measures to provide emergency assistance to the flood victims.

Asking local public representatives and local administrations to stand beside the country’s flood victims to reach relief materials to them, President Hamid said: ‘It must be ensured that the relief materials reach the real flood victims.’

PMO principal secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and the secretaries concerned to the President were present on the occasion.
