Gazipur: A mobile court here on Friday jailed 48 men and women for their involvement in anti-social activities in a residential hotel at Hotapara in Sadar upazila.

District administration sources said Deputy Collector BM Kudrat-a-Khuda and Executive Magistrate Rasel Miah conducted the mobile court drive at Rose Valley Residential Hotel and arrested 27 women and 21 men.

Later, it sentenced them to different jail terms and sent them to jail, and sealed off the hotel.

Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mohammad Humayun Kabir directed for conducting the drive following locals' allegation of running anti-social activities against the hotel.

Two months ago, the district administration in a mobile court drive arrested 35 men and women from the hotel on the same charge and sealed off it.

However, the owner reopened the hotel and started the anti-social activities again.
