PM shocked at Nayak Raj Razzak’s death
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday expressed profound shock at the death of legendary actor Razzak who passed away at a city hospital in the evening.
In a message of condolence, Sheikh Hasina recalled the contributions of Razzak to the country’s film industry, saying, ‘With his death, the country’s film industry and the cultural arena as a whole have lost a legend and the loss is not easily reparable.’
She also recalled his contributions to moving the Bengali film industry forward after the War of Liberation, reports the UNB.
The Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
The legendary actor, popularly known as Nayak Raj Razzak, breathed his last at United Hospital around 6:13pm at the age of 76 bringing the curtain down on an illustrious life.
Founding president of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association, Razzak was born on January 23 in 1942 at Nagtala in Taliganj of Kolkata.
