Dhaka: Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad has asked the voters to cast their votes without fear or intimidation in the municipal elections, which is scheduled to be started within hours.

At a press meet in his office on Tuesday night Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad also ordered the polling officers and law enforces to take immediate actions against anybody intends to carry out election fraud.

He also requested journalists not to stay longer inside polling centres.

He said that they had completed all preparations for holding elections.

‘I don’t want to say anything about the candidates backed by political parties. We are not considering anybody who is a BNP-leader and who is an AL-leader. We took actions as per the complaints and will carry on in future,’ said the chief election commissioner.
