Sabbir Ahmed, a chief polling agent of BNP backed candidate at Swarupkati municipality in Pirojpur was allegedly beaten by the followers of opposition candidate early on Wednesday.

The BNP-blessed mayor aspirant Shafiqul Islam told journalists, the followers of opposition party attacked on Sabbir when he went to the polling centre at Government College of ward 3 in the municipality area at about 6:30am.

Returning officer Ariful Haque said, ‘We are taking actions in this connection.’
