A Jamaat-e-Islami leader was detained in Kushtia for allegedly violating code of conduct for elections.

Kumarkhali Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Nayebe Amir Afzal Hossian was detained at about 7:45am on Wednesday.

Kumarkhali acting officer-in-charge Mohibul Haq said, the Jamaat leader was found talking to the presiding officer at the Sporting Club polling station. He was arrested for violating code of conduct for elections.
