A mobile court arrested a BNP-supported councillor candidate and one of his associates in Bandarban municipality on Wednesday for distributing money among voters.

The arrestees were identified as councilor candidate Mohammad Ayub Khan and his associate Mohammad Mostak Hossain.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Anwar Hossain said the mobile court led by him arrested Ayub and Mostak while the duo was giving money with the voters in the municipality area at about 10:15am.

The team also recovered Tk4,000 from their possession.
