Tangail: The Dhaka-Tangail Highway is experiencing a tailback stretching 80 kilometres from Alenga of Tangail to Chandra of Gazipur on Sunday, causing immense sufferings to the thousands of passengers.
Main Uddin, officer-in-charge of Mirzapur police station, said hundreds of vehicles had to spend at least several hours on the road as the condition of the pothole-ridden road further worsens due to incessant rain since last night.
Vehicles were moving slowly on the highway as those got stuck in potholes repeatedly, he added.
For the slow traffic, an 80-km tailback was created on the roads from Chandra of Gazipur to Alenga of Tangail, keeping several thousand vehicles stranded, said the OC.
