Singer Abdul Jabbar on life support
Dhaka: Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra singer Abdul Jabbar has kept on life support at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). The hospital’s doctor and president of Swadhin Doctors’ Council Iqbal Arslan said physical condition of Abdul Jabbar is deteriorating.
Physician Iqbal said, ‘He has been in coma since Saturday night. He has been kept on life support. His blood pressure is falling fast. His organs are not working properly.’
Halima Jabbar, wife of the singer requested people to pray for her husband.
Abdul Jabbar’s could not receive any treatment and foods from Saturday afternoon. Jabbar’s younger son, Babu Jabbar said his body rejected to receive any treatment and foods.
Singer Abdul Jabbar is undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of BSMMU. He was admitted to the hospital with several physical complexities including kidney and heart diseases on 31 May 2017. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and several private organisations provide financial aide for the singer’s treatment.
During the country’s Liberation War Abdul Jabbar motivated the freedom fighters through his patriotic songs.
Abdul Jabbar achieved Swadhinata Podok and Ekushey Podok for his great contribution.
