Bogra: A woman and her daughter were found dead at their residence in Bhandariapara area in sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Locals said Kapia Aktar, about 33 years old, wife of Golam Mostafa, a resident of Bhandariapara, used to live at a rented house with her daughter Ayesha Aktar, about 5 years old.

On Tuesday, neighbours found the door of Kapia closed from inside all the day.

As they did not found any response from inside after knocking repeated times, the neighbours entered the room breaking open the door only to see the body of Kapia and Ayesha lying on the bed.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sanatan Chakrabarti said a group of miscreants might have strangulated Papia and her daughter.

However, the reason behind the murder could not be found.
