Dhaka: Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna on Tuesday arranged a tea party for some like-mined political leaders as part of their move to float an alternative democratic political alliance.

Leaders of Gono Forum, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, JSD (Rab), BSD and Biplobi Workers Party joined the programme held at Nagorik Oikya’s Topkhana Road office.

Talking to reporters after the two-hour long meeting that ended at 8pm, Manna said it was just a tea party.

He, however, said they discussed the formation of the new alliance and its probable programmes. ‘I hope we’ll elaborately disuse on it after the Eid.’
