Mymensingh: Three members of a family suffered burn injuries as miscreants hurled acid on them in Kalapagla area in Haluaghat upazila on Tuesday night.

The victims are Mariam, about 22 years old, her sister Mohiron, about 13 years old and their brother Rassel Kabir, about 20 years old.

They are daughters and son of Abul Kalam of Kalapagla area.

Victims' father filed a case mentioning the name of Sohel, ex-husband of Mariam, as the prime suspect.

Police arrested three people, including prime suspect Sohel in this connection, said Kamrul Islam Mia, officer-in-charge of Haluaghat police station.

Family sources said criminals threw acid on them through the window around 10pm.

The victims were taken to Haluaghat Health Complex and later shifted to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.

Different parts of Mariam and Rassel's bodies were burnt while Mohiron suffered burn injuries on her legs, the OC added.
