No help to Rohingyas in moving out of camps: Police
The Police Headquarters on Saturday asked transport drivers and staff not to help Rohingya people move out of their camps by carrying them to other parts of the country.
It also asked other people not to help Rohingyas to spread from their camps, reports the UNB.
The Police Headquarters made the call so that Rohingya people cannot spread to other parts of the country, said Soheli Ferdous, assistant inspector general (Media), reports the UNB.
The government has already selected some specific areas for the accommodation of Rohingya people and arrangement of food and treatment for them. They will have to stay in their respective camps until they are repatriated to their homeland in Myanmar, she said.
‘Their (Rohingyas) location and movement will be kept limited to their camps. They cannot stay or take shelter in their relatives or known people’s houses outside their designated camps,’ the AIG said.
The Police Headquarters also urged homeowners not to rent their houses out to Rohingyas outside the camps. It also urged all to inform the local administration if there is any news about giving shelter or renting out house to Rohingya people outside the camps as well as spreading them to other parts of the country.
Bangladesh Police sought cooperation from people in this regard, the AIG added.
