Bagerhat: Two people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Bagerhat-Morelganj Road at Dona in Morelganj upazila on Tuesday morning, reports local news agency.

The deceased are Chinmoy Haldar, a resident of Kalai village in Jia Nagar upazila of Pirojpur district, and Hafiz Mollah, resident of Balaibunia village in Morelganj upazila.

Chinmoy Haldar was a teacher of a government primary school in Zia Nagar.

The Morelganj police said the accident took place when two motorcycles, one carrying two people and the other three, collided head-on at Dona at about 7:30am, leaving driver of a motorbike Hafiz and pillion rider of another bike Chinmoy dead and three others injured on the spot.

The injured were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, said the police.
