3 killed in Chuadanga bombing

Chuadanga: Three people were killed as miscreants hurled hand bombs towards them following previous enmity over land at Gangadashpur in Jibannagar upazila on Monday evening.
The deceased are Shahabuddin, Malekha Begu, wife of Shahbuddin, and Mohammad Ali. It has been known that Shahbuddin and Mohammad Ali were Awami League activists.
Local people said some landless people had been leaving on a piece of land that is about116 bighas in size.
Four years back, one Abdul High Tuku of Drashana and some local people claimed the ownership of the land.
Following the issue, several clashes took place at different times since then.
On Monday evening, some miscreants hurled around 5 bombs towards some villagers while they were having chat at a tea stall at about 6:00pm, leaving Mohammad Ali dead on the spot and three others injured. Mohammad Shahbuddin died on his way to Jessore Medical College Hospital at about 10:15pm and his wife Maleka died on Tuesday morning undergoing treatment.
The Jibannagar police held a man named Rejaul Haque in this connection.
