Rangpur: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad was hospitalised in Rangpur on Tuesday night as he felt unwell.

Ershad’s personal assistant Major (retd) Khaled Akhter told news agency UNB that he was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rangpur.

He said Ershad was attending a party programme in Dhaka's Chankuthi area on Tuesday night. As he felt unwell while returning to his residence, he was taken to the CMH at about 8:30pm.

Now, his condition is well and he might be released from the hospital on Wednesday night, the PA said.

Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, president of city unit Jatiya Party, said the JP chief was scheduled to attend two programmes today. However, these were cancelled following his illness.
