Habiganj: A Habiganj court on Wednesday sentenced four people to death for killing a farmer in 2013.

The condemned convicts are Arju Miah, 35, son of Abdul Wahab, Toyab Ali, 45, Rafiqul Islam, 55, and Safar Uddin, 24, of Shirikandi village in Chunarughat upazila.

According to the prosecution, Phul Miah, 20, son of Abdus Sattar of Shirikandi village, was beaten to death by the convicts on October 5, 2013 over a previous enmity.

Victim's brother Abdul Mannan filed a case with Chunarughat Police Station on November 25 over the incident.

Following investigation, police submitted a charge-sheet against four people.

After examining the records and witnesses, Additional District and Session's Judge Mafroza Parvin handed down the verdict.
