Chapainawabganj: A college student was found hanging from a tree in Telipara area of Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Masud Rana Masum, about 19 years old, son of Kabir Ali, a resident of the area and student of Balugram Adarsha College.

Baliadanga union parishad chairman Tariqul Islam said a woman spotted the body hanging from a mango tree around 7:30am and informed others.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Masum remained missing since he went out of his house around 8:30pm on Wednesday. The hands and legs of the body were tied up with a rope, said Saber Reza Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station.
