Schoolteacher shot dead in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar: A schoolteacher was shot to death and his brother injured by miscreants at Mohammad Sharif Para in Ramu upazila on early Wednesday.
The deceased is Mohammad Nurussofa, 29, a teacher of Barobil Government Primary School and a resident of the area, reports UNB.
Police said a gang of miscreants entered the house of Nurussofa by breaking open the door while he was sleeping at about 2:00am.
They opened fire on Nurussofa and hurriedly left the scene, leaving him dead on the spot and his brother Mohammad Nurunnabi injured.
Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Local people caught one Jasim, 27, on suspicion of the killing and handed over him to police.
Eidgarh police camp assistant sub-inspector Nazrul Islam confirmed the incident.
A case was filed in this connection.
