6 held over petrol bomb attack on train in Habiganj

Habiganj: Police on Sunday detained six people in connection with Saturday’s petrol bomb attack on a train in Madhabpur of Habiganj that left three people, including a woman and her daughter, burn injured.

The detainees are Noman Hossain, Islami Chhatra Shibir Satiajuri union unit president, Sajal Ray of Brahmanbaria, Md Shahbuddin of Madhabpur thana of Habiganj, Abdus Sobhan, Helal of Shankarpasha village of sadar upazila and Sujan of Shayestaganj.

Maya Begum, 40, wife of Kesli Miah of Eralia village in Sadar upazila, their daughter Amena Begum, 25, and Madhab Rudra Paul, 28, of Harashpur village in Madhabpur upazila suffered burn injuries as miscreants hurled three petrol bombs at Sylhet-bound Paharika train from Chittagong in Madhabpur on Saturday night.  

The injured passengers were taken to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
