Teenager found dead 26 days after missing, 3 held

Gazipur: Police recovered a body of a teenager from a jungle in Kashimpur Bagbari area in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night, 26 days after his going missing.

The deceased is Shaidul Islam, about 16 years old, son of Sirajul Islam of Shouldubi area in Gazipur city.

Police also arrested Shaiful Islam, brother of victim, Monir and Hasan in this connection.

Harun-or-Rashid, in-charge of Chakrabarti Police Outpost, said victim Shaidul had been involved with Yaba trading for a long.

On September 8, Hasan called Shaidul over mobile phone in Bagbari area and locked into an altercation over Yaba tablets.

Later, the accused hacked Shaidul to death and dumped the body in a jungle of the area.

Abu Bakkar Siddique, cousin of victim, filed a general diary (GD) with Jaydebpur Police Station on September 10.

Following the GD, police arrested Hasan using mobile phone tracking technology.

Getting information from Hasan, police recovered the body from the jungle and arrested Shaiful and Monir.

The body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, Harun-or-Rashid added.
