Govt tries to split 20-Party Alliance: Hafiz Uddin
Dhaka: Government is tempting 20-Party Alliance partners to split the anti-government political unity, Bangladesh Nationalist Party vice‑chairman Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed complained on Thursday.
Addressing a discussion marking Felani Day at the National Press Club in Dhaka, he said BNP is enough to topple the government. All Community Forum organised the programme.
He also asked the government to consider the proposal placed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and hold discussions to resolve political stagnation.
He also expressed his fear that such political stalemate may help rise of armed groups.
Awami League should bear the risk of making Bangladesh a militant country by patronising armed groups across the country.
He held the ruling party responsible for poor law and order situation. He said, ‘The government did not protest at the killing of Felani nor it sought any judgment in this regard.’
He also expressed his concern over the present human rights situation of Bangladesh.
