Benapole: Customs intelligence officials arrested two people along with seven gold bars worth Tk 50 lakh from Benapole check-post area in Benapole on Friday.

The arrestees are Mizanur Rahman, in his forties, and Mahbub Alam, around thirties, son of Abdul Malek of Comilla.

Tipped off, a team of Benapole customs intelligence conducted a drive in the area and arrested them around 9:00am, said deputy commissioner (Customs) Mohammad Sadek.

Later, they recovered seven old bars searching their bodies.

A case was filed in this connection.
