Awami League politically bankrupt: Fakhrul
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday said the ruling Awami League goverment is now politically bankrupt.
The BNP leader came up with the remark while addressing an inaugural ceremony of BNP-led 20-Party ally Bangladesh Labour Party’s tri-annual council.
Fakhrul said, ‘The long old political party Awami League once battled and struggled for democracy, it seems that Awami League has become a politically bankrupt party.’
‘Otherwise, it wouldn’t have tried to fracture another political alliance (20-Party Alliance), Fakhrul added.
The BNP leader complained, ‘The ruling party is attempting to impose one party rule robbing democracy. Different viewers are being forced disappearance and killed.’
Commenting the whole economy has become corrupt, Fakhrul said, ‘The party is confusing people in the name of development.’
Forgetting difference of opinions, the BNP acting secretary general urged all walks of people to unite getting back the franchise.
