Comilla: A local Juba League leader was shot to death by miscreants at Padua intersection in Chauddagram upazila of Comilla on Friday.

The deceased is Jamal Hossain, 35, former president of the Alkora union unit of Juba League and son of Ali Hossain of Kulasar village in the upazila.

Police and locals said Jamal came under attack by a group of miscreants in the area at about 9:30pm on the way home from another place.

The attackers fired bullets at him and severed the tendons of both of his legs, leaving him injured.

He was taken to the upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead at about 10:00pm.

Contacted, Chauddagram police officer-in-charge M Farhad said Jamal might have been killed by miscreants over previous enmity.
