Dhaka: A 16-year-old boy was found hanging from a ceiling fan at a house in Mirpur area of Dhaka on Monday night.

A picture of blue whale was found drawn on his hand leading to the suspicion that the deceased was addicted to dangerous Blue Whale Challenge online game responsible for provoking suicides.

The body was found at the house near the western side of Kazipara mosque at about 9:30pm on Monday.

The deceased is Sayeem, used to work at a tea-stall along with his father.

The Mirpur Model Police Inspector (Investigation) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman told NTV Online, being informed by local people; police went to the spot and recovered the Sayeem’s body. Later, his body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

One of Sayeem’s friend on Tuesday morning said Sayeem used to play cricket with them. He talked with Sayeem few hours before he committed suicide, around 12:00midnight on Monday, but he did not notice anything unusual on his behaviour.

He added, Sayeem was always a joyful boy.

However, Sayeem’s family broke into tears after hearing the sudden death news of their son.
