Dhaka: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said lawful action will be taken against Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia after her return home from London.

"Legal action will be taken against her (Khaleda Zia) as there've are warrants for her arrest. We'll take action as per law when the documents of the warrants reach us," he said.

The minister came up with remarks while replying to a question from reporters after attending a conference on women rights at Bangla Academy.

Khaleda Zia is scheduled to return home on Wednesday afternoon completing here over a three-month visit to the United Kingdom for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, a court in Comilla and two others here issued warrants for Khaleda Zia's arrest last week in three separate cases.

About his upcoming Myanmar tour, Kamal said the schedule for the visit is not yet finalised. "The Myanmar government has invited us to visit and we're preparing to go there. We'll go when they'll fix the date."

During the visit, the ministers said they will talk on fixed agenda and border problems.

The minister said though four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on border management and border problems were to sign during the visit, now the Rohingya issue will get the main focus.
