Rajshahi: Emdadul Haque Sarder, husband of former BNP lawmaker Jahan Panna, was killed in a road accident in Rajshahi on Sunday.

The deceased is the former deputy general manager of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank.

Witness said, Emdadul was returning to his house in Padma residential area by rickshaw. A bus hit the rickshaw at the Bhadra intersection at about 12:00noon.

Local people took him to Rajshahi Medical College where doctors declared him dead.

Boalia police officer-in-charge Shahadat Hossain said, locals seized the bus and handed it over to police but the driver and his helper managed to escape.

Earlier on Saturday, Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif’s son Rana Sharif died in a road accident in Tangail.
