Dhaka: The Industries Ministry has 72-hour ultimatum to tannery owners to relocate their factories from Dhaka city's Hazaribag and ordered to close down the factories if they fail to do so.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu gave the instruction on Sunday at a meeting with Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation at his office in Dhaka.
A statement from the Industries Ministry said, ‘The minister has instructed BSCIC to send legal notice to the tannery owners today.'
If the tannery owners fail to relocate their factories after the 72-hour ultimatum, their allotted plots in Savar Leather Industrial Park will be cancelled, the press release said.
