Noakhali: An Awami Juba League man was lynched by his rivals at Maizdee in Noakhali at about 10:45pm on Sunday.

The deceased is, Redwan Hossain Ledu, 22, a resident of West Maizdee, also a construction worker.

District Juba League joint convenor Ahsan Habib Hassan said Redwan was an activist of local Juba League.

Shudharam Police officer-in-charge (OC) Anwar Hossain said few days back Redwan had a dispute with a Rubel over theft of a mobile phone. Redwan stopped Rubel and some other young men while they were gambling. Later, Rubel and his associates chased Redwan and beat him up.

They hit Redwan on his head and left him dead on the spot, said the OC.
Anwar Hossain also said that police recovered the body from a field.
Rubel went absconded immediately after the murder.
