Benapole: Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested 23 people, including 13 women, from Doulatpur border point early Wednesday foiling their bid to enter India illegally, reports local news agency.

Subedar Aiyub Ali of Benapole camp of 26 BGB Battalion said being tipped of that some Bangladeshi citizens were trying to enter Indian
territory through Doulatpur border point without any valid documents, a team of BGB personnel conducted a drive there and arrested 13 women and 10 men.

The arrestees are residents of Jessore, Barisal and Narail district.

A case was filed with Benapole Port Police in connection with the incident.
