Demra gas line blast victim dies
Dhaka: One of the eight members of a family who suffered burn injuries in a gas line explosion at a house in Demra area of the capital on October 23 died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday.
Ratna Begum, about 18 years old, wife of Tofazzal Hossain, succumbed to her injuries at the DMCH burn unit in the afternoon, said assistant sub-inspector Babul Miah of the DMCH police camp.
The gas line went off in the kitchen on the top floor of a two-storey building in the early morning of October as there was a leak in the pipeline, leaving the eight people injured.
The injured - Ratna, her husband Tofazzal, about 22 years old, Arif, about 35 years old, Shipon, about 7 years old, Emon, about 18 years old, Ferdousi, about 35 years old, Tasim, about 2 years old, and Alamgir, about 40 years old - had been taken to the DMCH where Ratna died.
