Savar: A sixth grader took her life by hanging from the ceiling fan over a matter of love affairs at Gorat area in Ashulia of the upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Marzina Akhtar Akhi, about 13 years old, a student of class six of Gorat Moon Star School and College, daughter of Haresh Miah, hailed from Mudirgaon Chairmanbari area of Itna upazila in Kishoreganj district.

Moniruzzaman, sub-inspector of Ashulia Police Station, said Akhi used to live with her sister and brother-in-law at a rented house adjacent to her school.

Police suspect that she might have killed herself following love affairs-related matter, the SI added.

On information, police recovered the body from the spot around 5:00 pm.
