Chapainawabganj: A man was killed in an explosion allegedly while making bombs at Mardana Bamunpara village of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was Taifur Rahman, 40, son of Fazlur Rahman.

Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-charge Habibur Rahman said the blast took place at about 1:45pm while Taifur was making bombs on the rooftop of his brother Saifuddin's house, leaving him critically injured.

He was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered bomb-making substances from the spot.
