Kakrail double murder: Prime accused Jony to be quizzed

Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Al Amin Jony, the prime accused in the case over the killing of a woman and her son in Dhaka's Kakrail area, on 6-day police interrogation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahsan Habib passed the order after Ali Ahsan, sub-inspector of Ramna Police Station and also the investigation of the case, produced Jony before the court seeking a 10-day police quizzing.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday arrested him from Gopalganj.

During preliminary interrogation Jony confessed to his involvement in the double murder.

On Wednesday, Shamsun Nahar, 40, wife of Abdul Karim, and their son Shawon, 22, were found dead at their flat in a multi-storey building in the city's Kakrail area.

Police went to the spot and recovered their bloodstained bodies.

Ashraf Ali, brother of victim Shamsun Nahar, filed the case with Ramna police station on Thursday night accusing Abdul Karim, 56, husband of victim Shamsun Nahar, his third wife Sharmin Akhter Mukta, 25, Mukta's brother Al Amin alias Jony, 33.
