Keraniganj: A teenage boy was stabbed to death in Jinjira Namabari area of Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka on Sunday night.

The deceased is Mohammad Omar Faruk, around 16 years old, son of Mohammad Khalil, a tenant of the area hailing from Choudagram upazila in Comilla.

Sub-Inspector Mohammad Masur Ahmed of Keraniganj Model Police Station said locals spotted Omar at Jinjira Beribandh with severe stab injuries around 10:30pm.

Later, he was taken to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries early in the morning.

On information, police sent the boy to morgue for autopsy.

Deep injury marks were found in right thigh of the deceased and he died of excessive bleeding, said SI Mansur, quoting doctor.
