HC issues rule against blockade

High Court on Monday issued a rule why blockade programme shouldn’t be declared unconstitutional and why the government’s inaction to impose legal restrictions during the strike shouldn’t be stated illegal.
The High Court asked the government and all registered political parties to respond to the rule within the next four weeks.
The High Court bench comprising of Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman issued the command on Monday.
The court approved the order after primary hearing of the writ which was filed by business organisations -FBCCI, BGMEA, BKMEA and BTMEA.
The High Court also ordered to postpone bank interests of the businessmen during the strike.
