Five hurt in Amin Jute Mills fire
Chittagong: At least five people, including two firefighters, were injured in a fire that broke out at a warehouse of Amin Jute Mills in the city on Tuesday.
Three of the injured, including firefighters Mainuddin, 48, and Abdur RAB, 40, were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Humayun Kabir, service operator of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, said the fire originated at about 10:15am.
On information, 10 firefighting units from different stations of the city rushed in and brought the fire under control after efforts of one and half an hours, said deputy assistant director of the fire station Md Jasim Uddin.
They also managed to save jute stockpiled in three other warehouses of the mill, he said.
However, the reason behind the fire could not be known yet.
