Dhaka: The High Court on Tuesday granted six-month interim bail to Saidul Islam Sikder Saku, accused in the case filed over the killing of Police Super Babul Akhter’s wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

A HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim issued the order after hearing of a bail petition.

On June 5, 2016, unidentified miscreants gunned down Mahmuda Khanam Mitu at the Chittagong city’s GEC intersection while she went there to drop her son, Mahir Akhter, 7, for a bus to Chittagong Cantonment Public School and College.
