Khaleda Zia sits with 20-party leaders
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia sat in a meeting with the top leaders of her party-led 20-party alliance on Wednesday night to discuss Bangladesh's latest political situation and work out its next course of action.
The meeting began at about 9:15pm at BNP chairperson's Gulshan office with Khaleda Zia in the chair.
Wishing anonymity, a BNP leader close to Khaleda Zia told news agency UNB that the 20-party leaders will discuss the country's latest political situation and chalk out its next course of action.
He said issues like the Chief Justice's resignation, upcoming city polls, including Rangpur one, framework of the election-time government, Khaleda Zia's Suhrawardy Udyan rally and Cox's Bazar tour and her plan to visit some other cities and districts may come up for discussions at the meeting.
The BNP leader also said Khaleda Zia may seek opinions of the alliance leaders about the election-time government framework and whether she should unveil her party's election-time supportive government formula.
It is BNP chief's first meeting with the 20-party leaders after she returned home from the UK receiving medical treatment.
